STUDENTS & TEACHERS

Brigade 2506 and the Bay of Pigs Museum and Library are dedicated to the education of young people in civic engagement and democratic ideals. Our mission is to teach with primary sources, historical accuracy, and provide access to anyone that wants to learn about the events that took place in April 1961. The motivations of Brigade 2506 and their ideals are very much alive today and our veterans wish to pass down the torch of freedom through educational resources provided to our community and visitors through our museum. We are diligently working on preserving this history through an ever-growing physical and digital archive. Our teachers and students have the opportunity to speak with our veterans while they are still with us and will be able to use our historical records for present and future research. We invite you and your students to come visit us for a unique experience.

The Bay of Pigs Museum and Library is a non-profit organization and operates with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. It is also sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
